Dr. Zuckerman offers a few different options for sunken or hollowed out forehead temples due to aging. He can inject either a Hyaluronic Acid filler like Voluma or a different type of dermal filler called Radiesse to restore lost volume. A third option is to inject Sculptra Aesthetic, an injectable form of poly-L-lactic acid that stimulates the body’s own mechanism to produce collagen. The rest of this page focuses on this treatment using Sculptra as it gives the longest lasting results lasting up to three years, and this injectable has high rates of patient satisfaction among Dr. Zuckerman’s patients. In a study by the manufacturer, over 80% of patients rated a Sculptra treatment highly twenty-five months afterward. Sculptra also acts subtlely and gradually, which allows you to avoid appearing dramatically different one day to the next.
Dr. Zuckerman recommends an initial set of three treatments each spaced four to six weeks apart. Afterward, patients may be able to undergo a follow-up set of three treatments once every two to three years, but results do vary.
Treatment is somewhat visible immediately but takes four to six weeks to fully set in. After the initial three treatments, results last up to three years.

Dr. Zuckerman recommends patients take the following precautions before undergoing temple rejuvenation treatment to minimize bruising: no NSAIDs such aspirin or ibuprofen within a couple days before a day after, don’t drink alcohol to excess a day before and a day before, refraining from lying flat or working out within 2 hours after injection.
This treatment involves little to no downtime, and patients often return to work immediately after treatment. There may be slight bleeding or redness at the injection sites on the temples, but these will resolve within a few hours.
