Dysport is a competitor injectable to Botox Cosmetic. It works similarly by paralyzing targeted muscles where injected to prevent wrinkle formation. Dysport is said to work faster than Botox (within 1 to 3 days as compared with the 3 to 5 days of Botox). It is also said to spread more rapidly, making it a better option for areas like crow’s feet. You may request either injectable when you visit Dr. Zuckerman’s practice

Treatment takes approximately one week to set in and lasts three to four months.
Dysport treatments involve little to no downtime, and patients often return to work immediately after treatment. There may be slight bleeding or redness at the injection sites, but these will resolve within a few hours.
A few precautions before undergoing musculoparalytic injections are techniques to minimize bruising: no NSAIDs such aspirin or ibuprofen within a couple days before and a day after; don’t drink alcohol to excess a day before and a day after, refrain from lying flat or working out within 2 hours after injection. Makeup can be worn the day following treatment.
Functionally, there is very little difference between Dysport and Botox Cosmetic. Dr. Zuckerman is happy to inject both.
