Restylane Silk is the first FDA-approved injectable dermal filler designed for subtle lip augmentation and smoothing of perioral (around the mouth) fine lines and wrinkles. Restylane Silk is a Hyaluronic Acid filler with smaller average particle size, making it less viscous and less hydrophilic. Additionally, Silk is administered via ultrafine needle, which is designed for improved accuracy and precision. Restylane Silk Treatment Longevity
Treatment results are seen immediately and last approximately 6 to 9 months.
Restylane Silk Recovery (Downtime)
Restylane filler involves little to no downtime, and patients often return to work immediately after treatment. There can be bruising for 1-2 days post treatment, which then subsides, but most often with Dr. Zuckerman’s expert technique, he is able to minimize or eliminate such bruising.
Restylane Silk Pretreatment Guidelines
A few precautions before undergoing Hyaluronic Acid filler injections are techniques to minimize bruising: no NSAIDs such aspirin or ibuprofen within a couple days before and a day after; don’t drink alcohol to excess a day before and a day after; refrain from lying flat or working out within 2 hours after injection. Makeup can be worn the day following treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions About Restylane Silk
Restylane Silk better than Juvederm Ultra or Juvederm Ultra Plus for folds around the mouth?
Dr. Zuckerman most commonly uses Juvederm Ultra Plus XC for nasolabial folds, but the choice between Allergan’s product and Restylane Silk is largely one of preference. If you prefer the Restylane product, Dr. Zuckerman is happy to use it to perform your treatment. For subtle lip augmentations, Dr. Zuckerman also recommends the newer Allergan product Volbella.
