Travel to New York City to undergo cosmetic plastic surgery with Dr. Joshua Zuckerman.

If you are traveling from outside New York City to undergo cosmetic plastic surgery with Dr. Zuckerman, his office has optimized the process into the seven steps below to ensure that you have a comfortable, safe, and efficient experience. We will help you every step along the way including booking travel and hotels.

1. Request Your Virtual Consultation

To begin the cosmetic surgery process, please contact the Zuckerman Plastic Surgery office to request a virtual surgical consultation with Dr. Zuckerman. The staff will discuss your procedure of interest and other information, which will help determine if you are a good candidate for surgery. Please contact us via the contact form, email  office@zuckermanplasticsurgery.com, or call the office at 212-231-9897. If you are traveling to seek surgery with Dr. Zuckerman from an international location, the office may be able to conduct this part of the process via email instead of phone if you wish.

2. Send Us Your Photos

Please send us your photos via email to office@zuckermanplasticsurgery.com. We need clear photos of your front and side views. Photos should be taken in good lighting and clearly show your areas of concern. Photos can be also sent to us via regular mail if need be.

3. Phone or Video Consultation

When Dr. Zuckerman holds a virtual consultation with you, he will discuss your specific procedures of interest in more detail and make a final determination as to your candidacy for surgery. He will explain to you what the surgery entails and will also answer all your questions. Our phone consultation requires a credit card prior to the event that will be charged $200 in the event of a no-show. This fee is not meant to be punitive, but Dr. Zuckerman receives many requests for consultation and must allocate his time to those prospective patients most interested in having surgery.

4. Schedule Your Procedure

Once you have completed your consultation, our office manager will give you a quote for your procedure and help you pick a date for your surgery. A deposit of 50% of the surgeon’s fee is required to book your surgery date.

5. Read and Sign

After you have scheduled your surgery, we will send you a packet containing pre and post-operative instructions, as well as consent forms for your procedure. Please read all the documents carefully, initial each page, and sign them. If you have any questions, please email or call us. Dr. Zuckerman will review the consents as well as the instructions with you prior to surgery.

6. Required Clearance and Labs

You will need a medical clearance from your doctor and routine blood tests prior to surgery. We recommend you schedule an appointment with your doctor as soon as you schedule your surgery so you have sufficient time to be seen. The tests must be done 14 days before the day of your surgery so that there is sufficient time to obtain and review the results. The exact tests that must be ordered will be determined by your age, general health and planned procedures. We will send you the list of required lab work and medical clearance after reviewing your consultation form.If you are considering breast surgery, and you are over the age of 35, you need to have a mammogram. This must be arranged in advance. If you have had a mammogram, it must have been done within the previous 12 months to be valid. You will need to send us the report. If you have a family history of breast cancer, you may need a mammogram even if you are under the age of 35.You will need prescription medications after your surgery. These medications should be filled out at least one day before surgery. You can choose to obtain them in New York after your arrival.

7. Travel Plans

When making your travel plans, you will need to arrive at least one full day prior to your procedure and see the doctor for your pre-operative visit. We will email you consent forms and instructions prior to surgery which Dr. Zuckerman will review with you at your pre-operative visit. You will need to stay at least a week in New York before you can return home. The exact amount of time depends on your procedure and how far you are traveling. You will need to have an adult with you throughout your stay. If you do not have someone that could accompany you, we can help you arrange for a caretaker to take care of you after your surgery. We can assist you with booking a hotel in midtown Manhattan convenient to our surgical facility, and with arranging air travel and car service. Please call the office at 212-231-9897 and ask for the surgical coordinator Melisa for assistance.
