NON-SURGICAL BUTTOCK AUGMENTATION TREATMENT BY DR. ZUCKERMAN IN NEW YORK CITY

Buttock augmentation is an increasingly popular treatment in Dr. Zuckerman’s practice due to changing aesthetic ideals in the shape and prominence of the buttocks. Surgical buttock augmentation is one of Dr. Zuckerman’s most popular procedures, where fat is removed from the abdomen and other areas via liposuction and then grafted to the buttocks. However, for those not ready to undergo a surgical procedure, injections with Sculptra® Aesthetic may be a good option. This injectable induces the body to make its own collagen in the targeted areas and will naturally and gradually add volume after injection. The main downsides of this treatment is that the amount of augmentation is limited, the augmentation is not permanent, and the treatment is far more expensive than the surgical option. This treatment may be a good option for you if you have limited fat to harvest for fat grafting, if you desire a mild augmentation, or if you desire more localized enhances such as the appearance of dimpled skin texture due to cellulite.

Non-Surgical Buttock Augmentation In Detail

Below Dr. Zuckerman outlines several key aspects of Non-Surgical Buttock Augmentation including procedure time, preparation, cost, and more.

Recommended Treatment Regimen

Dr. Zuckerman recommends an initial set of three treatments each spaced four to six weeks apart. Afterward, patients may be able to undergo a follow-up set of three treatments once every two to three years, but results do vary.

Longevity

Treatment is somewhat visible immediately but takes four to six weeks to fully set in. After the initial three treatments, results last up to three years.

Treatment Time

45 – 60 minutes per treatment

Pretreatment Guidelines

Dr. Zuckerman recommends patients take the following precautions before undergoing non-surgical buttock augmentation to minimize bruising: no NSAIDs such aspirin or ibuprofen within a couple days before a day after, don’t drink alcohol to excess a day before and a day before, refraining from lying flat or working out within 2 hours after injection.

Approximate Cost

$10,000 – $20,000 ($1,000 per vial)

Required Level of Skill

Medium: while dermal filler injections are commonplace, non-surgical buttock augmentation is a more advanced technique. It is best to visit a board-certified plastic surgery and expert injector like Dr. Zuckerman to avoid complications with similarly located anatomical structures. This is an “off-label” technique.

Level of Discomfort

Moderate: due to the large amount of product being used, there are many injections. Dr. Zuckerman applies a topical anesthetic (numbing cream) before treatment to eliminate patient discomfort.

Associated Risks

Sculptra® injections are overwhelmingly safe, especially when performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Zuckerman. Minor, and rare, risks include:
• Swelling
• Tenderness and pain in the targeted area
