Downtime / Recovery
This treatment involves little to no downtime, and patients often return to work immediately after treatment. However, there may be slight bruising or swelling, which in some cases can least up to a week. More often, these post-treatment effects resolve within a few days. Dr. Zuckerman is also able to minimize bruising using his techniques and also by icing the affected area post treatment.
Required Level of Skill
Medium to high: Because this treatment involves injections deep into the tissues near the eyes, it is a more advanced injection technique. Dr. Zuckerman recommends you visit him or another board-certified physician who is an expert in this treatment and the anatomy of the face.
Level of Discomfort
Low to moderate: for this treatment, Dr. Zuckerman is injecting deep into the tissues, near the bone. He applies a topical anesthetic (numbing cream) before treatment to eliminate patient discomfort.
This treatment is overwhelmingly safe in the hands of an expert injector like Dr. Zuckerman. However as noted above, it is a more advanced injection technique. Some risks in the hands of an inexperienced injector are:
