In this video, Dr. Zuckerman performs lip augmentation for one of his patients using Juvederm Ultra Plus XC and demonstrates one of his personal techniques for enhancing your “pout”.
What is the difference between Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus?
Juvederm Ultra is the sister product to Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Dr. Zuckerman prefers to use Juvederm Ultra Plus as it is thicker, longer lasting, and is able to address more severe wrinkles and folds.
What is the difference between Juvederm Ultra Plus and Juvederm Ultra Plus XC?
The two products have the exact same formula, except that Juvederm Ultra Plus XC also contains lidocaine, an anesthetic to make the injections more comfortable for the patient. Dr. Zuckerman prefers the XC modularity for that reason.
Are Juvederm injections painful?
Juvederm treatments are not painful due to Dr. Zuckerman’s efforts. He uses modalities of the Juvederm product line that include lidocaine, an anesthetic, to make the injections more comfortable and also applies a second topical anesthetic before treatment so that the patient feels little to no discomfort during injections.
Should I visit a doctor for Juvederm injectable treatments in New York City?
If you visit Zuckerman Plastic Surgery for your injectable treatment, you can be certain that Dr. Zuckerman will recommend and perform the best treatment option for you in a safe and comfortable manner. In general, the use of injectable fillers has become so widespread that unfortunately not only may your injector not be a board-certified physician, if you undergo injections in a non-medical setting, an injector may have little formal medical training. Dr. Zuckerman recommends you visit a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist for these injections (if you aren’t able to visit Zuckerman Plastic Surgery!). In New York City, there many options for injectables treatments, and many medical offices also offer injections by a registered nurse or physician’s assistant (PA), often at a lower price. These injectors are required to be overseen by a physician, so if you are considering these practitioners due to price, Dr. Zuckerman recommends that you confirm with the office ahead of time that there is a physician on the premises and inquire to what degree the physician oversees the injector’s activities.
Are Hyaluronic Acid fillers safe?
Yes, these fillers are overwhelmingly safe. The most common “risk” is that patients is dissatisfaction with their injector’s result, so it is important to visit an experienced injector such as a board-certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Zuckerman. Any result with lumps, bumps, or unevenness is likely to make you the patient unhappy. There is very low risk that a patient may be allergic to the Hyaluronic Acid filler, in which case a board-certified physician’s office will be able to apply a treatment to reverse the filler. This possible allergy is the main reason a patient should visit a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist for treatment.
How do I avoid looking overdone? Duck lips?
Looking overdone is largely due to overdosing by the injector or injections in suboptimal locations. Dr. Zuckerman specializes in beautiful, natural-looking results and is an expert injector. As long as you trust your injector’s skill and judgement, you will look great. Dr. Zuckerman posts various injectables before & after images in his gallery, and you can judge his results for yourself.
